A festival called Vivat St. Petersburg, devoted to the city's 300th anniversary, is to take place in Tbilisi on April 17-29. According to the festival's organising committee, Vivat St. Petersburg will be a continuation of the Days of Russian Culture which were held in Georgia in September 2002.
The festival programme will include a musical evening in the Tbilisi Conservatory devoted to the 130th anniversary of Fyodor Chaliapin's birth, as well as many other events. The festival is being organised by the Centre for Russian Culture in Georgia, and is sponsored by the Russian Metalloinvest holding.
