Darwin Museum marks World Animal Day - 5 October, 2002

The State Darwin Museum will on Saturday stage an ecological festival, World Animal Day, for its young visitors. The museum will dedicate a quiz, Where Are Your Relatives?, a master class to make domestic animal masks, and games Do You Know Dog Breeds? and Domestic Animals /for little children/ to this Day.

World Animal Day has been traditionally marked on October 4th for 70 years already. The decision to mark the Day was made at the International Congress of activists for the conservation of nature in Florence in 1931. Later, societies for the conservation of animals in many countries announced their readiness to mark the day annually by staging all kinds of mass events.
