Sasha Pivovarova, a Russian model, is the face of many luxury brands. A former student of the History Department of the Russian State University for Humanities, she is now a well-known guest of many fashion magazines. Sasha says that world fame was a sheer accident. A few years ago, in February 2005, one of her friends, a photographer, showed Sasha’s best pictures to IMG, a famous New York modeling agency. IMG managers were intrigued by her unusual, sassy and sexy face. To start modeling, Sasha had to quit school and leave Moscow for New York. Through the efforts of IMG, Sasha was noticed by one of the most famous fashion queens, Miucha Prada. She signed a 3-years contract with Prada and became the face of Armani С osmetics ad campaign.

Pivovarova speaks about work with Miucha Prada with admiration and gratitude. The Prada contract secured the young beauty with angular features and boyish figure a spot at the main catwalks of Europe. Sasha has been showing new dresses of the leading world designers and enjoying applauds of fashion elite for two seasons. She was chosen by such fashion houses as Prada, Gucci, Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Christian Dior, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Chloe, Valentino, Givenchy, Jean Paul Gaultier, Miu Miu, Hermes, Kenzo, Victor & Rolf, Dolce & Gabanna, Balenciaga, Zac Pozen, Fendi and Yohji Yamamoto. After one year of working on catwalks, Pivovarova earned respect as one of the most talented and interesting top models. She appeared on the cover of Vogue Italia twice, and achieved a secure status in the world fashion industry.

Today the face of this blue-eyed blonde can be found on the pages of almost every issue of British, American, French, and even Japanese and Chinese Vogue. She is a frequent guest of such fashion magazines as W, L'Officiel, Harper's Bazaar, V Magazine, POP and Numéro. Sasha enjoys working with world’s leading photographers – her favorite Steven Meisel, legendary Peter Lindbergh, Michael Thompson, Mario Sorrenti, Craig McDean and other geniuses of bright flashes and glamour shots.

The 23-year-old supermodel, who never studied modeling and who learned the skill while working, says that she immensely enjoys working in Paris and other cities. However, she misses her family and friends in Moscow. “Paris is a wonderful city with a very special atmosphere. But Moscow is much closer to my heart. I spent my childhood there, my spirit and life is in Moscow,” says Pivovarova.

Only few people know that Sasha Pivovarova cherished a childhood dream of becoming an artist or an actress. Sasha was raised in an intellectual Moscow family. From her early childhood, she visited art exhibitions accompanied by her mother, listened to classical music, read books, and was inspired by romantic stories, beautiful landscapes and still life paintings.

Today, the constant change of scene and the opportunity to see the world allows Sasha Pivovarova to enrich her cultural life. The model says that she uses every free minute to visit a museum, a new exhibition and learn about the culture of places she travels to through work. Sasha draws a lot, and her suitcases that travel with her from one country to another are filled with sketches, travel guides and magazines with her drawings on the margins. Several times her hobby evolved into professional projects when some of her sketches were published in Vogue France, and her water color paintings appeared in a show of Matthew Williamson.

Pivovarova is a convinced vegetarian, and her favorite treat is Chinese green tea ulun. She prefers to buy clothes from Prada, Yohji Yamamoto, Marc Jacobs, Chanel and Chloe, and spends her spare time wondering around parks and painting. Sasha is planning to become an artist and open her own gallery in New York which she considers her second home and the best city on earth. Sasha believes that her beauty secret is complete rejection of alcohol and rational use of makeup. She says that only natural looks can reflect the true essence of human beauty.

In the near future, the goal-oriented model is planning to graduate with a degree in Art and continue to conquer world catwalks and work for the world best fashion houses.
