Olga Rodionova, the wife of a Russia oligarch, found herself involved in a scandal. She had a “Naked and Funny” nomination for Silver Galosh Awards – a popular award show in Russia similar to Golden Raspberry, where artists and public personas are “honored” for their doubtful achievements in show business.
The host of the show, Ksenia Sobchak, an it-girl and socialite (Russia’s analogue to Paris Hilton) presented the award to Olga Rodionova for her silly act of getting naked in public. The award came as an “honor” to Mrs. Rodionova’s book, titled “The Book of Olga” – a collection of explicit photographs taken by Bettina Rheims, a well-known European photographer.

Olga Rodionova did not appear at the show and considered her nomination a personal insult. She is now going to sue Ksenia Sobchak claiming a compensation for humiliating her honor and dignity. When announcing the award, Sobchak said that Rodionova was naked and funny indeed.
“The book had a limited circulation – only 1,000 copies of it were published. The book was available only outside Russia – for collectors, fans of photography and for art galleries. Having a respect for the conservative thinking of the majority of the Russian population, I asked the German publishing house not to distribute the book in Russia,” Rodionova told the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper.
“Ksenia Sobchak purchased the book abroad and brought it to Russia. The book is not a part of the Russian show business at all. When I found out that it was going to be a part of the ceremony, we tried to conduct negotiations with the organizers of the show and asked them not to violate copyright,” Olga Rodionova said.
Socialite Ksenia Sobchak described the situation as “comic.”
“Filing a lawsuit about the show is comic, I believe. Sincerely, I do not understand. Maybe Olga will explain it to me at court how my jokes insulted her honor and dignity. She, I would say, turns her inner world inside out in public. She claims that it was an offense to her business reputation. What reputation does she speak of if she publicly unveils her diamond-encrusted clitoral piercing?” Ksenia Sobchak said.
Western countries actively support Ukraine in words, but they are able to provide less and less real help. This opinion was expressed by the former head of the military intelligence of the Czech Republic, Major General Andor Sandor, in an interview with the Parliamentní listy.
