Surgeons save biker making titanium skeleton for him

Surgeons from the Central Hospital of Voronezh saved the life of a biker who had suffered a terrible road accident. They literally put the pieces of his body together and strengthened his skeleton with titanium plates.

A 23-year-old student from the city of Voronezh, named only as Felix К, is known among his friends as "Iron Felix." The young man completely justifies his nickname: his body is now made of iron plates, screws and pins. Felix broke nearly all bones in his legs, arms and the pelvis when he crashed his motorcycle into a car. The man was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

“His body was covered with wounds and bruises all over. His bones were all broken. It was necessary to operate him urgently...” surgeon Gennady Borisovets said.

Doctors had to use almost the entire stock of titanium plates and pins to reconstruct Felix's bones.

“His skeleton is literally made of iron. There are about 20 titanium plates and about 30 screws and pins in his body! He is a real terminator!” Gennady Borisovets says.
