The first SMS-novel for the wide audience

Chinese novelist Qian Fuchang created a novel exclusively for mobile phone users.

The creation entitled “Outside the siege fortress” is a passionate story of forbidden love between a married man and a married woman. The novel is divided into 60 chapters each of which consists of 70 characters.

According to Vice chairman of the Guandong Literary Academy (located in southern China), the work is no joke. Xinhua reports that China has about 300 million mobile phone numbers.

Chinese people have sent more than 220 billion SMS messages for the past year alone; this is more than a half of the world’s amount of SMS-messages.

In the meantime, Chinese authorities have come up with new rules and regulations aimed specifically to strengthen control of mobile phone messages. Love stories, as it appears, are not considered to be a threat to political stability in the country.
