Russian Justice Ministry called the decisions of the alternative Congress of Russian Communist Party on dismissing party leader Gennady Zyuganov not legitimate.
"Justice Ministry has refused to register the amendments in the Russian Communist Party Chapter made by the opponents of Gennady Zyuganov", said Deputy Justice Minister Evgeny Sidorenko on August 2.
According to him, the leaders of the opposition fraction within Russian Communist Party forged the documents of their Congress which decided to dismiss Gennady Zyuganov from the post of the Party Chairman. They distorted the information on the number of the participants of their Congress by adding 100 “extra” people. In reality, there was no quorum at the alternative Congress of Communists, and therefore the Congress itself was not valid.
