World Bank to aid Russia double GDP

World Bank promised Russia to double its Gross Domestic Product by 2010.

During his visit to Moscow, head of the World Bank James Woolfenson intends to address the issue of how the bank can help. The visit is set for June 2-4, reports ITAR-TASS with a reference to the World Bank office in Moscow.

Woolfenson is expected to take part in the International Economic Conference, hosted by the World Bank and OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development). He is also expected to meet with Russian government officials.

Head of the bank would like to meet with Russia's Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov, Vice-Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov and head of the Ministry of Finances Alexei Kudrin.
