Ministry of Defense Says Women Mustn't Have Children

The Ministry insists military men and women must have equal rights
The Russian Federation Ministry of Defense thinks it would be expedient to develop laws depriving military women of some rights and freedoms, a well-informed source in the Russian ministry reported on July 23.

Particularly, the source informs, the Ministry of Defense thinks that women making an army contract for the first time mustn't have children and mustn't have the right to have children until the contract is valid. What is more, the rights and freedoms determined by the Russian legislation with respect to women having children under 3 must be revised especially for military women having children under 1.5.

The source in the Ministry of Defense cited the experience of other countries where the armies are contractually based (the USA, France, Great Britain, etc.). In those countries servicemen are not discriminated by their sexual types; military women have no right to get married or to have children which is a gross violation of the contract.
