Storm warning issued on Kamchatka - 7 October, 2002

The cyclone that is raging above the Sea of Japan and affecting the weather on Sakhalin, is moving towards the coast of Kamchatka, a peninsula in the Sea of Okhotsk, reported Kamchatka's Inter-regional Territorial Department of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring.

Having moved closer to the Sea of Okhotsk on Tuesday, the cyclone will start affecting the weather on the Kamchatka Peninsula. Weather forecasts predict heavy precipitation and a wind of 25-30 mpsec.

The authorities of Kamchatka have issued a storm warning.
