Russia, armenia defense ministries agree on information exchange

Defense ministers Sergei Ivanov of Russia and Serzh Sarksian of Armenia have agreed on cooperation in the exchange of military information.

On Tuesday, the two ministers inked in Moscow two intergovernmental agreements On the Joint Use of Installations of the Military Infrastructure and On the Information Exchange in the Military Area.

Sergei Ivanov said that relations between Russia and Armenia are successfully developing. The two countries are united "by not only mutual relations, which rely on bilateral accords and agreements, but also by the single antiaircraft defense system and the single group of troops deployed in the Republic of Armenia," he said.

In turn, Serzh Sarksian said that cooperation between the two countries is on the rise. "Armenia is located in a complex region" and military cooperation with the Russian Federation gives Armenia "confidence and protection," he said.
