Ford Motor Company's Plant in Vsevolozhsk, Russia, Receives ISO 14 001 Environmental Protection Certificate - 23 September, 2002

Ford Motor Company's plant in the town of Vsevolozhsk, The Leningrad Region, Russia, has received ISO 14 001 international environmental protection certificate. According to the press service of the office of Ford Motor Company in Russia, this plant has become the corporation's first to receive this certificate even before the beginning of the mass production of cars. In order for the certificate to be awarded, the plant had been audited by the Lloyd Register Quality Assurance independent auditors.

The awarding of the ISO 14 001 environmental protection certificate to the plant is the evidence of the installation there of the system of environmental protection management, which regulates all the aspects of the plant's functioning such as the use of energy, water treatment, the processing and removal of industrial waste, the level of noise pollution, and atmospheric emissions.

The Ford Motor Company's plant in the town of Vsevolozhsk was officially opened in July 2002. By this time it has output about 30 cars, which now are undergoing tests. The mass production of cars should begin in October, about 3,000 vehicles output by the end of this year. The rated annual output capacity of the plant is 25,000 cars. The plant has assimilated USD 150 million in investments. Produced at the plant will be Ford Focus sedan, hatchback and station wagon.
