Aide to Duma chairman Seleznev to perform Quasimodo role

Famous Russian businessman and politician, aide to State Duma chairman Gennady Seleznev, Igor Kamensky will play the role of Quasimodo in the popular musical Notre-Dame de Paris.

Igor Kamensky is well known for his passion for music. When he received an award from a Moscow fitness-club last November, he ventured to sing a duet with popular TV sports commentator, Julia Bordovskikh. That was a song from the repertory of Cher and  Eros Ramazotti which was warmly welcomed by the guests at the awarding ceremony.

Besides singing and fitness, Igor Kamensky is also a rather successful businessman; he worked with Oneximbank and held the post of Rosbank vice-president. Besides, he is a Duma deputy from the Spiritual Heritage election association, and has been working as aide on financial problems to the Duma chairman for two years already.

When Igor Kamensky  saw famous musical Notre-Dame de Paris, he felt that the Quasimodo role had been written for him. He got a permission to attend rehearsals together with other singers. The aide will perform the Quasimodo role only once instead of Vyacheslav Petkun, who usually acts in the role, on September 30.

Producer of the musical Katherine Gechmen-Veldek says that dramatic and vocal potentialities of Igor Kamensky suit perfectly well for the musical. As for Notre-Dame de Paris itself, the musical is expected to gain more popularity after performance of the aide to the Duma chairman.

The businessman bought up all tickets for September 30 (by the way, realization of his dream will cost $100,000). Many influential financiers and politicians will get invitations to the performance. However, this is to be a charity performance: the audience will make charitable contributions to help people who suffered from the flood in the southern parts of Russia. The charitable action is to be carried out with support of Interros holding company.
