International Air-Space Salon “MAKS-2009” is one of the leading and biggest world air forums. Officially the ninth salon took place from August 18 to August 23 in the Moscow region.

Russia-based MAKS is one of the major events for domestic and foreign airspace companies. MAKS-2009 may break all records as by the quantity of participants, as well as by its results.

The air show is a demonstration of the latest achievements and development trends in the sphere of aero-techniques, space and rocket engineering. It is a good possibility for companies to show their high potential and conclude profitable contracts.

MAKS gives a complete idea of the priorities and achievements of the Russian aero-space complex. The salon provides unique possibility for further development of the industrial cooperation and new partnerships.

Hundreds of aircraft-making companies from more than 30 countries took part at the MAKS-2009 aerospace show. Russian manufacturers exhibited multi-mission fighters MiG-35 and Su-35.

Su-35 is a modernized multi-purpose super-maneuverable fighter jet of the 4++ generation. It is constructed on the basis of state-of-the art technologies that make this jet superior to its foreign analogues.

The distinctive features of the plane are the new avionics on the basis of the digital fly-by-wire flight control system and the new position-radar station.

Yak-130, a jet trainer, was designed after the break-up of the USSR. The Yak-130 aircraft can be deployed as a trainer for takeoff and landing, navigation, complicated maneuvers, actions in case of aeromechanic failure and pilot errors.

The Russian aircraft-making industry is especially proud of the new regional passenger airliner Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100). The airliner is based on state-of-the art technologies and systems unification.

The unification of the construction will increase economic effectiveness of operation. The Sukhoi Superjet 100 series fully meets modern requirements of the Russian and world markets.

Other aircrafts ready for the commercial service were also on display. They include the first production aircraft for regional airlines assembled in Russia An-148-100V, cargo airplane Il-96-400T and the airliner Тu-204-300А of the representative class.

Serious attention was paid to the MS-21 long-distance aircraft. This aircraft was designed in accordance with the principles close to the approaches of Boeing airplanes construction.

According to preliminary estimation, the operation of the МS-21 will be considerably cheaper than Western analogues. All ecological requirements will be observed, and a high level of post-sale technical service be provided. Aerodynamic qualities of the МS-21 surpass Airbus A-320 by six percent.
