Wishing you a very Liberal Christmas

Charles Dickens must have had American liberals in mind when he first thought of the character Ebenezer Scrooge for his book, “A Christmas Carol”.  At the very least, I think that in some strange prophetic way, he foresaw the characteristics of 21st century Democrats and members of the American Civil Liberties Union while writing about Mr. Scrooge.

Just like Scrooge at the start of the Dickens tale, liberals have little use for Christmas.  Unlike Scrooge after the visit of the three ghosts, liberals will never change their warped way of thinking.

Today there is a growing campaign in America to strip Christianity and anything to do with Christmas from our schools and other public places.  Schools have been forced to ban Christmas parties and municipal buildings no longer display nativity scenes out of the fear of frivolous lawsuits. The villains in this anti-Christianity campaign are liberals.  Their hit men are the ACLU’s legions of liberal lawyers.

In a strange twist of logic, the ACLU and their “I will do anything for money” lawyers, would rather allow young children to practice putting condoms on bananas, than allow them to have simple Christmas parties in public school classrooms.

'logic of taking Christmas out of classrooms very peculiar, since 90 percent of Americans are Christians.  Making laws that offend 90 percent of the population to protect a mere 10 percent is baffling to my conservative mind.  Some schools in California actually require students to take classes teaching Islamic religion and customs but will not allow Christmas parties or Christmas trees in the classrooms.

Most parents of the students in our public schools would rather have their children play with balloons at Christmas parties, not condoms and bananas in sex education classes.  And I am sure most would rather have their children learn about Christianity along with the Islamic religion.  Why exclude one religion but allow the other?  Is this some sort of liberal equal opportunity?

I guess in twisted liberal logic, condoms over Christmas and Islam over Christianity make perfect sense.   I guess this touchy feely logic is suppose to make everyone feel good while singing Kum-By-Ya, collecting welfare checks and watching students place condoms on bananas.  I for one am outraged by this way of thinking.

I know I will never truly understand liberals and their twisted illogical thinking.  Not that I am comparing liberals to dogs, but understanding them is like trying to understand why dogs act so weird.  For instance:  Why do some dogs eat their own ...well, I will not go there.

The ACLU website tries to explain its existence and its twisted logic.  Their section on Religious Justice states:

“The right of every American to practice his or her own religion or no religion at all, is among the most fundamental of the freedoms guaranteed by the Bill of Rights. The Constitution's framers understood very well that religious liberty can flourish only if the government leaves religion alone.”

Below is the First Amendment from the Bill of Rights.  Compare this to the ACLU statement above.

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

I defy someone to prove to me, the ACLU claims that “Constitution’s framers understood very well that religious liberty can flourish only if the government leaves religion alone.”  Where does it say that in the First Amendment?  I think it read just the opposite.  We have the right to practice freedom of religion everywhere.

I know I am not a bottom feeding lawyer, or a card-carrying member of the ACLU, so I don't see things through liberal eyes. But it looks to me like the founding fathers of the United States of America wanted to protect its citizens from “state organized” religion like the Church of England in the 1700's.  I really don't think they would have objected to Christmas parties in the classroom or nativity scenes in Courthouses.  And, I really can't imagine what they would think about condoms and bananas.

Well enough liberal bashing for one column, it is Christmas after all.  I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah.

One last thing concerning Dickens and “A Christmas Carol”.  I am sure that if little Tiny Tim were here with us today he would tell all the liberals around the world these words in a sweet, tiny, barely audible voice: MERRY CHRISTMAS MORONS, and to all a good night.
