Representative Tom DeLay rebuked again

Twice, in one week, Tom DeLay(R-TX), has been chastised by the House Ethics Committee

DeLay is accused of fraud, money laundering, and now, abuse of office.

"The ethical cloud that has been hanging over the Capitol has burst," Representative Nancy Pelosi of California, the Democratic leader, said at a news briefing. "Mr. DeLay has proven himself to be ethically unfit to lead the party”.
DeLay, in a very vocal defense, has accused the Democrats of tainting his name – especially in an election year.  If readers will recall, four of Delay's employees are either under full investigation or have been indicted.

Speaker J. Dennis Hastert is standing up for his friend [DeLay] and expressing dismay and anger of the findings of the Ethics committee.  Despite the fact that the committee decision of whether to censure another House member must be unanimous and the committee is divided equally between Republicans and Democrats.

In a feature article by the New York Times, and I quote: “The ethics panel, which has five Republicans and five Democrats, also admonished Mr. Delay for exhorting officials of the Federal Aviation Administration to track Texas state legislators who fled to Oklahoma last year to escape voting in Austin on a bill that reshaped the political landscape to benefit Republicans and give them perhaps four or more new Congressional seats next month. A challenge to the redistricting is before the Supreme Court, which has yet to rule on it.”

On the house floor, there are calls for DeLay to step down and resign from the House of Representatives.
