Ron Jackson: Svetlana Khorkina

I am an American who just watched the women compete in the individual gymnastics tonight in Athens.  I may be American but I have watched Svetlana Khorkina of Russia compete for years.  She is a class act and she shows so much class desire to be the champion.  I have to admit I was really hoping she would finally get her gold medal.  When she didn't, she showed the class and the poise of a real champion by smiling and being so congenial with everyone around her.  I felt sad for her but her smile made me smile.  I would have sent this message to her personally if I knew how to but I don't, so I am sending it to you in hopes that somehow, Svetlana will know that many Americans admire her and were rooting for her.  She is a champion.  What a great lady!
