Harris Sukhera: More Russophobia in international press RESPONSE

Sir,

It seems that simple arithmetic is beyond your grasp. According to the information in your article, the British military had 285 suicides in 21 years, and the size of the military is 50% large as the Russian military. The average number of British military suicides per year is 13.57.

Now compare that figure to the 109 Russian soldiers (out of a total of 1.2 million) that committed suicide in 2003. That averages to 54.5, a 400% greater rate than the British military.

What is the point of writing inflammatory stories when the facts are completely contradictory?
