Georgia and Abkhazia (a rebel republic within Georgia) have agreed to set up road-blocks in the Kodori Gorge, Emzar Kvitsiani, the Georgian president's envoy to the gorge, told RIA Novosti.
He added that Georgian and Abkhazian blocks to be established on the disengagement line would control the situation without UN military monitors and Russian peacekeepers.
Kvitsiani noted that the agreement had been achieved a few days ago. "So far, we have not informed either the UN mission of military observers or the Russian peacekeepers of this decision," he said.
He is sure that such a practice of safeguarding the gorge will help establish trustful relations between the conflicting sides.
