Closed Morning Session Starts At Apec Summit In Shanghai

Closed morning session has started at the APEC summit in Shanghai. All leaders participating in the forum have arrived in the Shanghai Museum of Science and Technology, where the session is taking place, in traditional Chinese outfits invented over a thousand years ago during the Tang Dynasty. The outfit consists of a white silk shirt with a stiff collar and a jacket made of heavy colored silk, decorated with pattern of Chinese characters. The summit participants are wearing red, blue, green, and brown jackets. Curiously, three female participants in the summit - New Zealand's Prime Minister Helen Clark, President of Indonesia Megawati Sukarnoputri, and President of the Philippines Gloria Arroyo - are dressed the same way. Vladimir Putin and George W. Bush have chosen to wear blue jackets. Chinese leader Jiang Zemin decided on red, the color favored in China.
