Portugal President To Be Escorted By Businessmen On His Moscow Visit

Escorting Portugal's President Jorge Sampaio, who is arriving in Russia on Thursday night, will be a large group of Portuguese entrepreneurs. The delegation is grouping nearly 50 bankers and company managers, Aurelia Martinos, an aide to President Sampaio, said in an exclusive RIA Novosti interview. They are coming to Russia to find partners in the area of shipbuilding, civil engineering, energy, wine-making, production of furniture, automobile spare parts and packing material, as well as in the wood-pulp and paper industry, in the field of communications, computer science, tourism and services. While in Moscow, the Portuguese president and economics minister, who is also among the delegates, are expected to take part in a Russian-Portuguese seminar on the development of bilateral trade and other economic contacts.
