The Taliban claims that it has lost connection with Osama bin Laden. Mohammad Tayyab Aga, the spokesman for Mullah Omar, the Taliban spiritual leader, stated that Osama bin Laden was not on the Taliban-controlled territories and there was no connection with him. According to Al-Jazeera, Omar's spokesman stressed the determination of the Taliban troops to defend their territory, primarily, the town of Kandahar. He also said that foreign journalists were welcome to visit the town in order to prove that it was under the Taliban control. At the same time, Mohammad Tayyab Aga refuted the possibility of negotiations to surrender the city. According to him, Mullah Omar, the Taliban spiritual leader, is still in Kandahar.
