The Russian Auditing Chamber is going to maintain and broaden contacts with top bodies of financial control of other countries and their international associations. Sergei Stepashin, Chairman of the Russian Auditing Chamber, said this at a meeting of the heads of control and accounting bodies of some European countries that is being held in Limassol, Cyprus. While in Cyprus, Stepashin will discuss matters of money laundering, including through the use of offshore zones, as well as capabilities of top fiscal-control bodies in closing channels of financing international terrorism. Stepashin is to have meetings with the president, the prosecutor general, the justice minister, and the auditor general of Cyprus.
