First Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Vyacheslav Trubnikov has noted pointedly the progress in Russian-Ukrainian economic relations. Speaking Monday at a press conference in RIA Novosti, Trubnikov stressed that "we try to take each other's interests into more account." He expressed the hope that the process will further be on the rise. At the same time, he highly assessed the role of the presidents and governments of the two countries, as well as efforts taken by Russian ambassador to Ukraine Viktor Chernomyrdin. On December 14, a meeting between presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Leonid Kuchma of Ukraine and representatives of Russian and Ukrainian business circles will be held in Kharkov, the Russian diplomat reminded.
