Kazakhstan And Russia Hold Negotiations On Border Issue

The latest round of Russo-Kazakh negotiations on de-militarising the border between the two countries has been held in the Kazakh town of Petropavlovsk. Experts from the two countries considered disputes along the border sectors in north Kazakhstan and Russia's Kurgan and Tyumen regions. The de-militarisation process, which has been underway for two and a half years, has seen agreement reached on more than 4,500 km of the Russo-Kazakh border. It was agreed that the next round of talks would be held in Russia next year.
