Belarus hopes to attract more investments

The government of Belarus has defined a list of basic investment projects to be implemented in 2003 with the participation of foreign capital.

As the embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Russian Federation reports, the list includes 184 mining projects and the cost of each of them is no less than $500,000.

The list also includes 16 investment projects, which were carried out in 2002. Their implementation will make it possible to attract $1.5 billion to the country's economy in 2003.

The list of new investment projects offered by the government of Belarus includes the construction of the Krasnoslobodsky mine belonging to "Belaruskaly" association, the reconstruction of the Minsk heat and power plant No.3, the production of truck cranes at the Minsk factory of wheeled prime movers, the technical retooling of "MAZ" truck factory to create capacities for the manufacture of automobile vehicles meeting Euro-3 standards.
