Grigory Chukhrai, an outstanding Russian film-maker, who was past 80, died at home of a heart attack today. Grigory Chukhrai didn't make many films, but every one of them was an event. One of Chukhrai's most famous films, "The Ballad of a Soldier", was awarded nearly all main prizes in the Soviet Union, including the Lenin Prize, which was the country's highest award (1961).
