One in every four Russians uses a cellular telephone, according a recent Romir Monitoring survey. And 42% of residents in large city's with a population of over one million use mobile phones. Meanwhile, 79% of respondents say they are satisfied with the quality of their cell phone service. Nevertheless, 11% say they are not satisfied with their service.
Moreover, 43% of mobile phone users acquired their phones in company stores. 19% of respondents received their phones as gifts from relatives or friends. 18% purchased their phones in large audio-video stores. 10% of respondents say they purchased used cell phones. 4% bought their phones at large markets and 3% said their employer gave them a phone. More than 25% of mobile phone users entered the market in the last six months. The survey questioned 1600 people nationwide.
