Three Bulgarian diplomats were required to leave Russia before March, 23 “in connection with the activity, incompatible with their diplomatic status”, in other words, because of spying. It will be recalled that Bulgaria has already sent away three Russian diplomats with the same wording. For the time being nothing is known about the involving of the Russians in espionage. And it will scarcely be ever known. Traditionally Russian intelligence does not comment on “spy scandals”. The Bulgarians are apparently not to comment on the possible “spy actions” by the diplomats of Bulgaria. Expulsion of foreign diplomats in response to the expulsion of theirs became a tradition of Foreign Ministries of all the states long ago. Usually diplomats, who are already suspected of spying, suffer in such cases. Bulgaria certainly foresaw such a reaction of Russians. So the countries did “favours” to each other.
