The volume of illegal exports of cars to Russia will be about 15 per cent in 2002, chairman of the State Customs Committee Mikhail Vanin announced at a press conference in Moscow today. He reported that official dealers imported 60 per cent of new foreign cars in Moscow last year and this figure will make up 85 per cent this year. In addition, the customs top official reported that the State Customs Committee has reached an agreement with Daimler Chrysler that there will be only one agent for selling Mercedes cars in Russia starting in 2002.
