Construction of a chemical fertilizers terminal in the Ust-Luga sea trade port was launched Saturday. Russia's Deputy Transport Minister Vladimir Yakunin, Valeri Serdyukov, governor of the Leningrad region, managers of the Ust-Luga and Roshimterminal companies arrived to attend the opening ceremony. The Ust-Luga sea trade port is the only port where the Russian Federation constituent has a blocking stock package - more than 26 %. The cargo turnover of the chemical fertilizers terminal will make up about 5.5 million tons annually. The construction is planned to be completed in 2005 and the first stage of the terminal should be completed in the first quarter of 2002.
