Moscow will host the Russian Championship of Cookery and Consumer Service from November 8th to 11th. It has been organised as part of an international exhibition of goods and services for the foodstuffs and leisure industry, which is to be held in the Russian capital at the same time. The championship's organisers have announced that they would like to see the public at large regard cookery as a part of the nation's culture. The competition will be held in accordance with the rules laid down by the World-Wide Association of Cookery Unions. This means that there will be team events, as well as individual competitions. Various aspects of the nation's cookery heritage will be represented by teams from 12 Russian towns, while 128 chefs will compete in the individual events. In all, more than 300 specialists will take part in the championship.
