On Monday a scientific-practical conference on ensuring air flights safety opened in Krasnoyarsk (administrative centre in eastern Siberia) within the framework of the first Siberian airspace show (SAKS-2001). The SAKS-2001 press centre reported that taking part in the conference are 350 scientists and experts of aircraft building, instrument making and the missile space complex from 23 Russian regions as well as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. A total of 270 reports on various aspects of ensuring reliability of aeronavigation and air flights means are to be discussed during the conference. Special attention will be paid to reliable exploitation of the transpolar air bridge the shortest routes of which from Asia to America have already been laid over the territory of the Krasnoyarsk Region and via the North Pole. On the results of the conference work practical recommendations for air companies will be worked out.
