In 2002 Russia will have to pay 14.05 billion dollars on its foreign debt, Vice-Premier and Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Alexei Kudrin said on Wednesday while speaking at the Federation Council (the upper house of the Russian parliament). "These are substantial sums but on the whole they are at the level of the year of 2001", he said. Kudrin explained that out of the total sum the foreign-debt payments themselves amount to $6.84 billion, while $7.2 billion are debt servicing.
