A 73-year-old man attempted to take secret defense documents to Prague
A pensioner, who attempted to take secret documents outside Russia, was arrested in the airport of St.Petersburg. The passenger was arrested on February 27th, during the customs inspection. Customs officers found 70 pages of technical documents in the suitcase of the 73-year-old man. A security director of the Obukhov Plant said that the documents contained a state secret, which the pensioner was going to take to Prague. The Obukhov Plant is one of the largest defense enterprises in Russia, which produces military hardware, especially in the field of rockets and space technologies. The plant participated in such space programs as Energia-Buran, Mir and Fobos.
Another fraudster, named as Vyacheslav Brindin, was nabbed in Novosibirsk, Siberia. The man had a major-general's ID, which identified him as a military man of an unknown category of troops in a non-existent country. The man used the ID to deceive municipal officials, as he was visiting state institutions in the city. Police officers found numerous contracts, certificates, commercial suggestions, expert conclusions and copies of ministerial orders in the man's suitcase.
