ICQ global network infected with virus

Russian anti-virus “Kaspersky’s Laboratory" informed about detecting new Internet virus Worm.Win32.Bizex.
The virus is being disseminated over ICQ program through ICQ and MS Internet Explorer vulnerable areas.

The attacked computer receives ICQ-message inviting to visit hackish web-site. To distract the attack victim, cartoons of Joecartoon popular series are demonstrated to him. Simultaneously Java-virus secretly penetrates the system and sends messages via the user’s ICQ to all the addresses from his/her contact list inviting to visit the same web-site, 3dNews reports.

"Kaspersky’s Laboratory” recommends users to immediately delete the message having reference to "jokebox" website and restrain of visiting the above mentioned site, CNews wrote.

There is no information if the worm has any destructive functions. The worm may pose danger only for users of some ICQ versions. Meanwhile, visiting the dangerous web-site from Miranda alternative project resulted in no consequences, except for launching Java online machine, Compulenta wrote.

Viruses of this kind came into being in 2002. The virus program can infect only a computer having Internet Explorer and ICQ installed (and ICQ is installed by default).
