Bin Laden says Nigeria is the country that must be "cleaned"
The police of Nigeria detained an Iranian citizen on suspicion of espionage. The man was taking pictures of national monuments and other objects in the country.

According to the Nigerian press, the Iranian took pictures of the UN Mission headquarters, the Supreme Court building, military objects, the residence of the British Consulate culture department, the hospital and all hotels where foreigners stay. The man had no special permission for photographing.

The authorities do not report if the detained is connected with the rebellion of Islamic extremists that occurred in northern states of Nigeria early in January. The rebels insisted they belonged to the Taliban movement.

Nigeria is one of large oil exporters; the country was several times mentioned in speeches of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden. The number one terrorist said Nigeria was the country that must be "cleaned".
