Chechen Terrorist Gave Himself up - 27 March, 2003

22-year-old citizen of the Nuradilovo village of the Khasavyurt district, Dagestan, a member of a Chechen gang has given himself up to the Novolaksk Department of the Dagestani Interior Ministry.

In the interests of the investigation, the press-service of the Interior Affairs Ministry refused to mention his name. However, according to the surrendered terrorist, in 1992-1999 he participated in military actions on the territory of Chechnya against the Federal Forces as a member of a terrorist formation headed by Field Commander Kutsuyev.

The terrorist is accused of crimes in accordance with Article 208 of the Russian Federation Criminal Code "Organisation and Participation in the Illegal Armed Formations" and Article 222 - "purchasing, keeping, carrying and using guns and ammo." The question of the punishment of the surrendered terrorist, remains open, the press-service noted.
