IQ-National legacy

According to a latest research study, country's prosperity depends on the population's intellect.

The study conducted in 60 countries established direct correlation between a level of national intellectual abilities and the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Researchers of several different countries have tested an existing notion concerning intellectual abilities of people of various nationalities. As it turned out, people from the countries of the Pacific region: Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore possess the highest intelligence quotient. Their average IQ is 105.

Population of Europe, United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand occupies the second place with an IQ of 100. In South Asia, Northern Africa and in majority of Latin countries an average IQ equals to 85. In Africa, Sahara region and the Caribbean, people have IQ close to 70.

As a result, scientists were able to conclude that national prosperity depends on country's intellectual development by 58%.

Every additional IQ point of the GDP after 70 constitutes approximately 500 per person. The research study has clearly indicated that those with high IQ are capable of learning new skills pertaining to the work with newly developing marketable industries.

Economic prosperity depends on the intellectual abilities of the country's political leaders.

Deviations from common tendencies can be explained by means of political and economic factors. Former Socialist countries such as China, Russia and countries of Eastern Europe with 100 IQ and low salaries, disrupt natural correlations between individuals’ skills and national wealth.

Another reason could be natural resources. Countries of the Persian Gulf possess oil, Botswana has diamonds and Bermudas are famous for its tourism.

Development of new technologies, such as computers, stimulates curiosity and increases one's intellect.

Without a doubt, malnourishment affects one's intellect. Nearly 10% of children in England get an optimal daily intake of all necessary nutrients. If adolescents were given special food supplements, their intellect would have increased by five points.
