Russia to sell anti-cancer drug without US certification

The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has authorized the distribution of the drug that was created by US scientists, but it was not authorized in the USA.

The Russian authorities have approved of the anti-cancer drug that did not obtain US certification.

According to US company spokesman Dr. Garo Armen, the drug has undergone the necessary procedures in the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and it may enter the Russia market in late-2008.

“Several days ago we received a license from the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation to distribute Oncophage among patients on a commercial basis,” said Armen. According to the doctor, “After patients take the drug, the risks for metastasis of cancer after an operation lower by half with them.”

If the information about the vaccine certification is confirmed, it will be the first time that Russia has approved of a drug that was not authorized in the country that had invented it.
