Huge activity at Manchester City

This time it is not players in; it is players out. On the cards seems to be the transfer of Paraguayan international striker Roque Santa Cruz, from Manchester City back to Blackburn Rovers and also Shaun Wright-Phillips, possibly to Fulham where he will team up with his ex-boss Mark Hughes.

On the cards seems to be the transfer of Paraguayan international striker Roque Santa Cruz, from Manchester City back to Blackburn Rovers and also Shaun Wright-Phillips, possibly to Fulham where he will team up with his ex-boss Mark Hughes. Santa Cruz was signed from Blackburn by former City boss Mark Hughes for 17.5 million GBP in 2009.

But Wright-Phillips and Santa Cruz are not the end of it. During this week, Manchester City defender Wayne Bridge has been loaned to West Ham United. Another player who cannot get a game at City is Emmanuel Adebayor. However, Roberto Mancini does not want to lose too many attacking players, the more so because the future of Mario Balotelli is in doubt, due to injury and the Italian manager of Manchester City would like Adebayor to stay on as cover. Adebayor may find his destination is Real Madrid, a club which has expressed interest in him and in veteran German striker Miroslav Klose.

On City's shopping list this Summer is Tottenham's Welsh winger Gareth Bale. Across the city, Manchester United is eyeing up France and Lyon playmaker Yoann Gourcuff as a Summer signing.
