Russia makes Swedish army bankrupt

A scandal in Sweden broke out about too high military expenses. Swedish army was accused of blowing off money and the parliament promised to head in the army civil executor that won’t let officers use state money.

The reason of this panic is simple: the Parliament found out that the country spent on military needs almost $ 150 million more than was planned. The military budget for 2009 and 2010 will also be about $ 150 million more than was initially planned.

In response to accusations the military officials say that the present military budget doesn’t let the army be ready for any external threat, particularly form the possible threat form Russia.

‘We need to be careful and to observe carefully what’s going on near our borders. Russia is holding an aggressive energy strategy that is backed up by gigantic natural resources. Dissension between Russia and Europe increases and thus our region becomes strategically important’, - says General Khokan Syuren, the Swedish armed forces head. His dissatisfaction can be easily understood: it’s no good when a civil person interferes in military affairs.

Before that, all financial questions in Swedish army were solved by a united group of Swedish military men. There was organized a professional business that let them steal money from the government. Now it seems that such a criminal scheme will be stopped.
