Little marijuana-riot in Ukraine

Young people gathered in central Kiev, beating drums and smoking cigarettes, to urge the government to legalize marijuana in Ukraine.

More than 300 of their opponents, mainly representatives of nationalist groups surrounded them, holding banners including one that said: "70 percent of crimes caused by drugs."

Meanwhile, Ukraine's Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko said he disagreed with legalizing marijuana, Interfax news agency reported.

"I strongly object to the legalization," Lutsenko was quoted by Interfax as saying. "It's a huge evil for our country."
