A traditional trade fair opened on Saturday, June 15, in the Chinese town of Harbin, the Heilongjiang province bordering on the southern part of Russia's Far East . Present at the fair is Konstantin Pulikovsky, Russia's President's Plenipotentiary in the Far Eastern Federal District. The participants include delegations, companies and individual entrepreneurs from most all Russia's Far Eastern regions, which illustrates the significance of the event for the furthering of trade relations between Russia and China .
According to Evgeny Anoshin, the press secretary to the President's Plenipotentiary in the Far Eastern Federal District, goods produced and technologies developed in Russia's Far East are presented in a single large exhibit.
According to statistics, China is about to become the leading trade partner of Russia's Far East, large enough to compete with Japan and South Korea.
Russia's Vneshtorgbank plays an important role in the further development of Russian-Chinese business relations. In order to finance Russia's companies doing business with China, the bank opens credit lines for Chinese banks for over USD 15 million. In addition to this, Vneshtorgbank has entered into a five-year USD 500 million agreement with the Import-Export Bank of China.
