"300th anniversary of Saint Petersburg: Russia Open to the World" exhibition in London

The 300th Anniversary of Saint Petersburg: Russia Open to the World" exhibition will open in London on November 11th. The exhibition is aimed to reflect all spheres of life in the "Northern Venice", Chairperson of the Committee for the Preparations of Saint Petersburg's 300th Anniversary Celebration Natalia Batozhok said. Petersburg culture will be represented by exhibits from the main museums of Saint Petersburg: the State Hermitage, the Russian Museum, the State Museum of Saint Petersburg's History, the Naval Museum, the Museum of the Oktyabrskaya Railway.

The meeting of the World Wide Club of Saint Petersburg citizens and the presentation of Aleksander Sokurov's film "Russian Ark" will be held within the framework of the exhibition. Daniil Granin will present his monograph "Peter the Great". The Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiyev will give concerts for the London auditorium.

Exhibits presented by Petersburg factories will tell about the industrial life of the city. The exhibition will also host a Naval Show, which will be held in the city on the Neva river within the framework of the celebration events. Moreover, the organisers of the exhibition will also speak about the preparations of the city for the celebrations.

However, the Northern Capital will occupy only a quarter of the exhibition. Besides the part of the exhibition dedicated to the City on the Neva river /"The 300th Anniversary of Saint Petersburg: 300 Years of Russia and Great Britain's Successful Cooperation"/, two other parts dedicated to the whole country will be represented at the exhibition - "Russia - Great Britain: Trade and Economic Cooperation, Realities and Prospects" and "Russia's Investing Potential". These parts of the exhibition will be represented by display stands of ministries, departments and 140 enterprises from all Russian federal districts.
