Prospects for Development of Russian-U.S. Cooperation Discussed

The prospects for development of Russian-U.S. cooperation in the sphere of risks control were discussed on Tuesday at the talks of the representatives of Russian Society of Risks Control (RussRisk) and the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington.

In the course of the meeting held in the U.S. Department of Commerce both sides stressed their interest in carrying out joint projects in the sphere of risks control. In particular, the questions of drafting the agenda and preparation of the international conference and exhibition Risks Control and Insurance which is planned to be held in Moscow for the first time in November 2003 were diuscussed.

Head of the financial services department of the U.S. Department of Commerce Pompilio Verzario expressed full support for the idea of holding this conference. He also noted the U.S. Commerce Department's interest in work on the question of ensuring insurance of commercial risks in the power sector.
