Israeli troops shot dead an unarmed Palestinian who had entered an army base in the northern West Bank on Thursday, Palestinian medics said.
The army confirmed soldiers had shot an unarmed Palestinian in the Dotan military base as it was being dismantled, saying he had failed to heed orders to stop, reports Reuters.
According to Haaretz, "Soldiers called for him to stop, fired warning shots in the air and he continued, (so) they opened fire," a military source said.
Four Palestinians were arrested when they penetrated the base on Wednesday, the source said.
The base is slated to be dismantled in the next few days following Israel's evacuation last month of the nearby Homesh and Sa-Nur settlements as part of its disengagement plan.
