Bashkir President declares July 2-4 days of mourning

Murtaza Rakhimov, the President of the Russian republic of Bashkiria, Southern Urals, has declared July 2nd-4th days of mourning for victims of the air crash above Germany, which involved a Tu-154 jet belonging to Bashkir Airlines, reported the Information Department of the Bashkir president.

A source in Bashkir Airlines reported more than half of the passengers on board the Tu-154 were children.

According to the list of passengers, 8 of the passengers were children aged below 12, and 37 more were teenagers aged below 16. Accompanied by 8 grown-ups, they were heading for Spain for a holiday.

All crash victims were residents of Ufa, Bashkiria.
