The Russian-Romanian negotiations on drafting a political treaty will take place in Moscow on Friday, said the Romanian Embassy in Moscow, The Romanian delegation will be headed by State Secretary of the Romanian Foreign Ministry Christian Diaconescu, the Russian side will be headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Razov. As was pointed out in the Embassy, the aim of the coming meeting is "to continue the process of working out two documents - a political treaty and a joint statement of the Foreign Ministers of the two countries. "We hope that the Moscow round will be final, and the documents will be prepared for signing," the Embassy pointed out. "The conclusion of a political treaty will be a great success and will reflect a high level of the Russian-Romanian relations. Both documents are expected to be signed during the visit to Moscow by Rumanian President Ion Iliescu," said the Embassy. According to Romanian diplomats, this visit is scheduled for May, this year, but its concrete date has not yet been named.
