The first meeting between Russian representatives in Geneva and Pavel Borodin brought here on Saturday from the USA will probably take place not earlier than Monday.
According to the information provided to RIA Novosti in the Consulate General, the delay is connected with the necessity to obtain permission for this meeting from the Swiss authorities. The procedure of communication between detained foreign citizens and consuls is established by the Vienna convention and stipulates that the detained person must file an appropriate request with the administration of the detention centre. After that the meeting must be authorized by an investigator. In addition to that it might take place only after the official confirmation by the Swiss side of the fact of Borodin's extradition.
